The other night I received a call from some salesperson asking if I have made my funeral arrangements yet. Is this something that funeral homes are doing now?

Some funeral homes and cremation societies hire salespersons to solicit persons by phone or through the mail into making their preplanned funeral arrangements. These persons are typically not a licensed funeral director, but instead they have an insurance license to sell insurance products. Our funeral home believes that only a licensed funeral director should make those arrangements with a person, and when they are ready, not when they have been called by a salesperson to do so.
